Tucked away in one of the quieter areas of Cornwall, Pennance Mill Farm gives campers the perfect base to enjoy the area around the historic port of Falmouth. Known also as King Harry’s Cornwall after the well-known ferry that transports people and vehicles across the river Fal, saving an extended drive around the estuary. This campsite also has it’s own claim to historic interest, having been owned by the same family for many generations

Description: The Pennace Mill Farm site is inland but for those seeking a bit of seaside enjoyment it’s just a short trip to Maenporth beach or Gyllyngvase beach, both of which tick all the right boxes. The site itself is laid out over a series of fields that are south facing and fairly level and provides a more rustic setting rather than a neat well-manicured arrangement that some caravaners might prefer. There are 10 spaces for vans but the emphasis is on camping here. For those not wanting to spend their break under canvas, the site also has one cottage or lodge that can accomodate 7 people. There are 2 shower / toilet blocks and plenty of electrical hook up points that are becoming more the norm these days for people’s fridges and lighting.

Prices are very reasonable at £12 per pitch (2 people) per night. Drops to £10 in low season.

There’s plenty to do in the area for all ages. We recently enjoyed the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, a great trip on the Falmouth – St Mawes Ferry, which proudly now has a new member of the fleet in the ‘Duchess of Cornwall’. We also enjoyed Gylly Beach, a stylish Cafe/Bar right on the beach front at Gyllyngvase.
